Why We Built This Reference
Printed Montgomery directories ended, yet the source records survived in separate systems. Current ownership belongs to the Montgomery County Revenue Commissioner, while deeds, marriages, and estates run through Probate. The Board of Registrars keeps voter records under Alabama law. Historic city directories and yearbooks are held in the Montgomery Room, and the Alabama Department of Archives and History preserves older county material. We bring the verified portals, desk contacts, coverage dates, fees, and fallback routes into one Montgomery County reference.
What the Directory Provides
- Different search angles: the street directory for address records, city directory collections for historical volumes, and the resident lookup for one person
- Named offices: Probate, Revenue Commissioner, Board of Registrars, court clerks, vital records, the Montgomery Room, and ADAH
- Practical methods: follow a parcel into deeds, interpret a directory entry, or trace one household across several decades
- Local access rules: what Alabama law permits, what remains confidential, and which counter or request process fills an online gap
What We Are Unable to Do
We are a privately operated reference, not part of Montgomery County, the City of Montgomery, Alabama government, any court, or any library. These limits apply:
- We cannot verify that a named person now lives in Montgomery County
- We do not retrieve, certify, amend, or interpret an official record for you
- We cannot place a person on, or remove a person from, an agency roll
- We do not provide legal advice about records or disputes
- We cannot guarantee that a link, fee, office detail, or coverage year has not changed
Only the responsible custodian can confirm, certify, or correct its record. Information found here cannot be used for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or other FCRA-regulated decisions.
